Blog Eating Out - Le Bistrot Mel-Lou

Le Bistrot Mel-Lou

Stéphane, Melissa and Louis Bajou; a father, son and daughter team with a goal of providing an original and authentic French restaurant with a twist.

Although Le bistrot Mel-Lou is a new venture openend in Dec 2013, this is not the Bajou family's first foray into the restaurant industry. Having lived in the UK for a number of years, our manager Stéphane ran three successful French restaurants in the north west of England before his return to Creuse.

There biggest priority is to use fresh and regional ingredients in our dishes. They offer traditional French cuisine using delicious recettes creusoises et limousines from Grandma Émilienne's recipe book. There ties to the UK are important to them and there is a British influence in many of there meals. The lunchtime menu starts at €10.95, including starter, main course, cheese, dessert and coffee.

Alongside usual fare, they offer a monthly theme night in which they 'visit' a different country and try traditional international dishes.

The restaurant is situated on the main road in St Agnant de Versillat, only a few kilometres from La Souterraine and only 30 minutes from La Maison de Cromac, so why not visit them! There aim is to make you feel welcome in a friendly and inviting atmosphere with rustic, yet modern surroundings.
